All rights reserved. ************************************************ Annette Smith Laird - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Monroe News Star, September 25, 2006 A celebration of life will be held for Annette Smith Laird, a life long resident of Tallulah, LA, on Monday, September 25 at the First Baptist Church at 2:00PM Rev. Crawford Williams and Rev. John Rushing will officiate with interment to follow in Silver Cross Cemetery. Mrs. Laird, a retired educator and homemaker, was born October 11, 1933, and departed this life on Saturday, September 23, 2006, at the Madison Parish Hospital. Mrs. Laird graduated from Tallulah High School, received a B.S. from Louisiana State University and a M. Ed. from Mississippi College. She was a fourth grade teacher and guidance counselor at Tallulah Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her father William A. Smith; a sister Rita Ervin; and a brother Edward A. Smith. Her survivors are her husband Robert K. "Bob" Laird of Tallulah, LA; her daughter Debbie Lourens and son-in-law Tony Lourens of Germantown, TN; her mother Myrtle B. Smith of Tallulah, LA; and grandchildren Colin L. Lourens and Tyler S. Lourens of Germantown, TN. Pallbearers will be Ira Archie Ervin, David Hugh Ervin, Wilton Shinall, Brian Moreau, Billy Querrey, and George Shepherd. The family requests that any planned memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Tallulah; St. Jude's Children Hospital, 332 North Lauderdale, Memphis Tennessee 38105; or their favorite charity.
