Kowitz - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, March 16, 1978 Funeral services for Elmer C. Kowitz, 71, of Tallulah were held Wednesday in the chapel of Crothers Home of Tallulah with the Rev. Barney Holloway officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery. Mr. Kowitz died Monday in a Vicksburg Hospital following a brief illness. He was a native of Minnesota; had lived in Madison Parish for 46 and was a retired employee of the Chicago Mill and Lumber Co. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Josie Kowitz of Tallulah; one son, Carl Kowitz of Tallulah; four brothers, Clarence Kowitz of Sartel, Minn. and Raymond Kowitz, Edgar Kowitz and Vernon Kowitz, all of Chipley, Fla. ; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Chirhart of Sartel and Mrs. Virginia Griffin of Chipley; and one grandchild. Pallbearers were Bill Woods, Bob Woods, Ron Kinard, Tommy Reed, Wayne Neuroth and Allen Mayeaux.
