King - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, September 24, 1986 Services for Claude R. King, 74, were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Crothers Funeral Home chapel in Tallulah with Rev. Ramon Warren officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Mr. King died Thursday at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah after a short illness. He was a native of Alabama and a resident of Tallulah for 30 years. He was retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after 42 years of service, and he was a member of the Tallulah First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Helen C. King of Tallulah; one son, Claude King Jr. of LaMarque, Texas; two daughters, Debbie Armer of Tallulah and Pamela Ratcliff of Pearland, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Shields of Tallulah; one brother, Pete King of Tallulah: eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Charles Grace, Bill Johnstone, Dave Falkenheimer, Johnny Trichell, Walter McMurchy, and Ernest Hart. Honorary pallbearers were friends and employees of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
