Keens, Lynette E. VALLEY FALLS

 

Lynette E. Keens, 74 of Route 67, died suddenly, Sunday, December 16, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

 

Born in Brisbane, Australia, Lynette was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Beryl Walker Evans. She came to the U.S. as a child and was educated in Tallulah, La. She served and was honorably discharged from the US Marine Corps. She then resided in Virginia until moving to Upstate New York in the 1980s where she has lived ever since.

 

In her free time, she enjoyed reading and has always loved animals, especially her three feline companions. She also worked part-time at the Stewart's Shop in Ballston Spa, where her playful attitude and sense of humor made her many friends.

 

Lynette was the wife of the late Charles R. Keens, who passed in 2009. She is the loving mother of Stephanie Heslin (Joe) of Valley Falls; the sister of Ralph Evans (Ellie) of Sydney, Australia and Priscilla Palmer (Rory) of Albany Creek, Australia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Haley Phillips (Ken) of El Paso, Texas and Ryan Heslin of Valley Falls.

 

Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., Waterford, NY 12188. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Schaghticoke. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204.
