Karnes - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, February 1, 1963 Services Held Saturday For C. D. Karnes Funeral services for Charles D. Karnes, 76, of Sondheimer, were held here last Saturday in the Chapel of Cupit-Young Funeral Home at 3 P. M. with the Rev. Wilson Watson officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Cupit-Young Funeral Home. A native of Seamore, Mo., he was a former school teacher and draftsman. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and Masonic rites were conducted at graveside. Mr. Karnes was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Julie E. Karnes, Sondheimer; four daughters, Mrs. B. K. Bryant and Mrs. L. C. Allen, both of West Monroe, Mrs. Frances Woodhead, Covina, Calif., and Mrs. Gus Eaker, Sondheimer; two sons, C. R. Karnes, West Monroe, and Roy E. Karnes, Birmingham, Ala.; 14 grand-children and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Charles Arneson, Bob Brown, Bob Gaumnitz, Pete Russell, Percy Hammons, Ernest Stewart, E. V. Parker and W. J. Wilson.
