Jordan - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post, January 12, 1957 Benjamin Jordan, Prominent Farmer, Dies In Tallulah Benjamin R. Jordan, prominent Delta farmer and member of the Madison Parish Police Jury, fell dead in the yard of his home here yesterday morning after apparently suffering a heart attack. He was 59. A native of Madison Parish, Jordan was one of the outstanding pioneer men of this area. He was an active civic leader in Tallulah. . He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alma Jordan; his mother, Mrs. Louise Jordan of Tallulah, one sister, Mrs. A. L. Sevier Sr., of Tallulah; two brothers, Francis Jordan of Pitkin, La., and George Jordan of Baton Rouge, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p. m. today from the First Baptist Church with the Reverend Shirley Briggs, pastor of the Ferriday, La., Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Silver Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Sevier, Barton Sevier, W. W. Pippin, Watson McDonald, Ralph Loe, R. C. Webb, R. G. Long and Dr. George Webb. Honorary pallbearers are all close friends of the family.
