Jones - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, April 8, 1966 Funeral Services Held On Monday for J. L. Jones Funeral services for J. L. Jones, 43, who died last Saturday after a long illness, were held Monday at 2 P. M. Services were conducted at Crothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Brown, pastor of the Mission Baptist Church officiated. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. A native of Union Parish, he was an engineer with the Louisiana Department of Highways, and a veteran of World War II. He had lived in Tallulah for 33 years. He leaves his wife, Althea Jones; two sons, James Edward and Billy Ray Jones and four daughters, Louise, Mary Ann, Alice Faye and Edith Marie; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Jones, Waverly; five brothers, William of Lake Charles, George of Ferriday; Huey of Tacoma, Washington; Gaines of Miami, Fla., and Henry of Waverly; three sisters, Miss Silas Jordan of LaPlace; Mrs. Johnnie Johnston, of El Paso; and Mrs. G. C. Jenkins of Tallulah. Pallbearers were R. B. Carter, J. C. Gibson, J. Daniel Purvis, Archie Harrell, Hollis Free and Otis M. Gunn.
