Johnston Sr. died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, as a result of a four-wheeler accident in Yazoo County. He was 56. Born in Alsatia, La., Mr. Johnston was a resident of Transylvania. He was a retired farmer and a member of Melbourne Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Connie Dykes Johnston of Transylvania; two sons, Paul Johnston and Calvin Johnston, both of Transylvania; two daughters, Kim Green of Transylvania and Daphne Marsh of Shreveport, La.; a brother, Jake Johnston of Transylvania; two sisters, Audrey Webb and Carolyn Goulette, both of Transylvania; seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Melbourne Baptist Church in Transylvania with the Revs. James Hayes and Paul Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Joey Sullivan, Gerald Sullivan Jr., Scotty Waller, Neal Horath, James David Bass and Neil Sullivan.
