All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Aldine Ellis Johnston - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, July 27, 1951 Mrs. Aldine Ellis Johnston Mrs. Aldine Ellis Johnston, former resident of Madison Parish, died Wednesday, July 18th in a Baton Rouge hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was 55 years of age. A native of this community, Mts. Johnston had resided in Baton Rouge for some time. She was the widow of the late Mr. Douglas Johnston. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 19th at the Trinity Episcopal Church, at 3:30 in the afternoon, with the Rev. J. D. Gilliam, officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home in Silver Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Edward Palmby, James Doyle, Red Wilkerson, Jim Parker, D. V. Larr and Tate Hargrove. She is survived by her one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Doyle, of Baton Rouge, La.; one son, Douglas Johnston, Jr., New Orleans: her mother, Mrs. Agnes Ellis, Tallulah; one brother, Dunbar Ellis, Tallulah; and two grandchildren.
