Johnson - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, January 27, 1961 Services for Mrs. Emma Johnson Held Tuesday Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at Young's Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. Emma S. Johnson, 72, who died at her home, 208 Scott Street, Monday morning following a long illness. Rev. Bobby Brown, Rev. Graham and Rev. Jones officiated. Interment was in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. She was a native of Mize, Miss., and had lived in Tallulah for the past 32 years. She was a member of the Mission Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, R. P. Johnson, three daughters, Mrs. John W. Popwell, Mrs. Jimmie Byrd and Mrs. Chauncy Neighbors, all of Tallulah; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren ; two brothers, J. W. Ashley, Magee, Miss., and B. W. Ashley, Tallulah; four sisters, Mrs. W. A. McAlpin, Mize, Miss., Mrs. W. E. Stephens, Magee, Miss., Mrs. J. W. Puckett, also of Magee, Miss., and Mrs. W. L. Kirby, Cedar Bluff, Ala. Pallbearers were Dick Byrd, Roy McCaa, Benny Byrd, William Beard, Bill Dunning and J. C. Byrd.
