Johnson - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, May 27, 1976 Funeral services held for prominent merchant Funeral services for Earl H. Johnson, a prominent Tallulah businessman, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Tallulah with the Crawford Williams officiating. Burial was in Providence Memorial Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson died Monday evening in a Vicksburg Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Biloxi, Miss., Mr. Johnson had lived in Tallulah for the past 30 years. He established Johnson's Firestone Dealer Store in 1946, and operated it continuously since then. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he served on the Board of Trustees; a past president of the Madison Parish Chamber of Commerce; a member of Tallulah Rotary Club and Tallulah Lodge No. 308. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Gladys G. Johnson; a daughter, Mrs. Rod Lawson of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Williams of Biloxi; two brothers, Ashton B. Johnson of Biloxi and Albert Johnson of Gulfport; and two grandchildren, Connie Lawson, 22, and Renee Lawson, 11, both of Houston. Pallbearers were Malcolm Cagnolatti, Lynell Bradley, Earl Gilbreath, Lloyd Shelton, J. W. Reeves, E. B. Towne, Jack Trim and W. E. Bradley. Honorary pallbearers were Sam Fuller, G. T. Shepherd. Cliff C. Adams, C. E. Hester, Ralph Loe, Paul Schwartz, Clyde May, H.S. Provine, Zack Chambless, Jim Parker, J. G. Wyly and Robert Moncrief.
