The man, Eugene Ivy, 67, of Mound, was seen lying in the road late last Friday night and was struck by an automobile driven by Edward Yerger, also of Mound. Mr. Yerger stopped his car and authorities were called to the scene. Madison Parish Sheriff C. E. Hester said after viewing the body that the man apparently was dead before he was hit by Yerger's vehicle. An attendant at a funeral home that received the body also voiced the same opinion. No charge was filed against Yerger. The inquest was held by Madison Parish Coroner E. O. Edgerton. Funeral services for Mr. Ivy were held Sunday afternoon at 2 p. m. from Crothers Funeral Home, with interment following in the Silver Cross Cemetery. Survivors include his widow, four daughters, three sons, two sisters and a brother.
