Hurd - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal August 28, 1936 George M. Hurd, 82 Dies Friday At Alexandria George M. Hurd, 82, formerly of Tallulah, died Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hubert B. Lawrence, in Alexandria, La. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Omaha, Texas, from the First Baptist Church. Mr. Hurd was the father of A. H. Hurd, of Tallulah, and at one time was employed as telegraph operator at the Y. & M. V. depot in Tallulah. At this time, however, this road was known as the V. S. &. P. Mr. Hurd was a member of the Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge and the Woodmen of the World. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Herbert B. Lawrence of Alexandria, La.; Mrs. Fred Y. Jones, of (remainder illegible.)
