Hughes - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg (MS) Post April 4, 2009 TALLULAH — Alma M. Hughes died Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah. She was 88. Born in Natchez, Mrs. Hughes was a homemaker and a member of Mount Carmel Ministries of Vicksburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hughes; her daughter, Doris Hughes; and her parents, the Rev. Charlie Sanders and Lillie Ramsey Sanders. She is survived by her sister, Almeda Powell of Chicago; and her goddaughter, Charlie Jean Newton of Vicksburg. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Carmel Ministries with the Rev. Mitchell Dent officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
