Hodge died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at Abbeville General Hospital. She was 81. Born in Goldonna, La., Mrs. Hodge had lived in the Bear Lake Community for more than 60 years before moving to Abbeville, La., two years ago. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.J. Hodge; her parents, Steve and Zona Bedgood; five brothers, Albert Bedgood, Acey Bedgood, Bill Bedgood, Everette Bedgood and Steve Bedgood Jr.; two sisters, Elizabeth Henry and Laverne Beaird; a son, Donald Hodge; and a grandchild, Ricky Hodge. Survivors include a son, Billy Hodge; three daughters, Mel Roberts of Brownsville, Texas, Barbara Travis of Monroe and Liz Patin of Lafayette, La.; a sister, Iwilla Henry of California; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Revs. Charles Gaston and John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah. Pallbearers will be Billy Ray Hodge, William E. Travis, Mike Travis, Don Patin, Mickey Tucker, Ted Harmon and John Harmon.
