All rights reserved. ************************************************ James Joseph Hill Sr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post, August 20, 2005 TALLULAH - James Joseph Hill Sr., age 85, of Tallulah, La., died Aug. 19, 2005. He spent most of his life in Delta, La. Private funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today, Aug. 20, 2005, in the Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel in Tallulah with the Rev. Scott L. Reiber officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mr. Hill was retired from the Waterways Experiment Station. He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Vicksburg. He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Mississippi and William H. Stevens Lodge No. 0121 of Vicksburg and a member of the First Families of Mississippi. He is survived by his wife, Eudora Elrod Hill of Tallulah; a daughter, Carolyn Crow and son-in-law Carroll T. Crow Jr. of St. Joseph, La.; a son, James J. Hill Jr. of Newellton, La.; a sister, Doris Dees of Douglas, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Donna Gurcham of Tupelo, Christopher C. Crow of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Brion T. Crow of Pensacola, Fla.; and seven great-grandsons. Memorials may be made to the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3601 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS 39180.
