All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Danny Hicks - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post January 16, 2013 LAS VEGAS — Danny Hicks died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, in Las Vegas. He was 92. Mr. Hicks was born Sept. 15, 1920, in Tallulah to Dan Hicks and Lillie Victoria Walker. He attended Madison Parish Training School. He served in the Army in World War II and was part of the Marine and Army offensives in the South Pacific campaign. He was employed for more than 30 years with the Miller Ross Company in Cicero, Ill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Novella Bailey Hicks; and five brothers and five sisters. Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Hicks of Indianapolis, Ind.; a brother, J.C. Hicks of Las Vegas; a sister, Carrie Hicks Wills of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and nieces, nephews and other relatives, including Ruth Ann Jones of Chicago. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem M.B. Church, 305 5th St. in Tallulah. Burial will follow at Natchez Military Cemetery under the direction of Beckwith Golden Gate Funeral Home of Tallulah.
