Hampton - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, April 6, 1962 Former Resident Dies Recently In Natchez, Miss. Funeral services for Melvin L. Hampton who died suddenly in a Natchez, Miss., hospital recently were held in Natchez. He was born at Chase, Louisiana in Franklin Parish. He died on March 25 at 1:30 a. m. He was an electrician, employed by the Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company, a member of the Jackson Local IBEW, a member of Harmony Lodge No. 1, F & A M., all Masonic bodies, the Natchez Shrine Club, the Wahabi Temple, a devoted member of the Moose Lodge and a veteran of World War II. He graduated from Tallulah High School on May 9, 1944. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pauline N. Hampton, two children, Kenneth and Marvin Hampton, all of Natchez, Miss. ; his mother, Mrs. C. W. Revelle of Tallulah; his father, Morris L. Hampton, Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. R. D. Young and Mrs. K. E. Palmby, both of Monroe ; and a number of nieces and nephews.
