All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Sallye Hale - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal May 28, 1965 Services Held Recently For Mrs. Sallye Hale Funeral services for Mrs. Sallye Hale, who died in a Richland Nursing Home on May 18, after a brief illness were held Wednesday, May 19, 2 p. m. at Crothers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Hurt officiating. Burial followed in Lakewood Memorial Cemetery, Jackson, Miss., at 4 p. m. with graveside services conducted by her nephew, Rev. James T. Chapman of Charlotte, N. C. and her first cousin, Rev. William "Bill' Hardy, a retired minister of Jackson, Miss. Burial arrangements were under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Prior to Mrs. Hale's death, she had just returned from a Monroe Hospital where she had her broken hip set. She has been partly an invalid for a number of years and had been a resident of Tallulah for many years and had been in the nursing home for about a year and a half. She was a native of Newton, Miss., she was a devout Christian, a member of the Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. She is survived by three brothers; J. D. Chapman, Newton, Miss., William T. and Albert Chapman both of Jackson, Miss., five sisters, Mrs. M. A. Wroten, Tallulah; Mrs. S. A. Boykin, Stonewall, Miss., Mrs. B. R. Marsalis, Jackson, Miss., Mrs. D. E. Martin, Birmingham, Ala., Mrs. A. M. Wells, Laurel, Miss., and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were George Watts, E. H. Fisher, Tommy Erwin, I. T. Crothers, Phillip Crothers and Lewis Nettles, Jr. Mrs. M. A. Wroten was with Mrs. Hale all the time she was in the Monroe hospital.
