All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Donald Ray Hale - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal October 16, 1969 Final Rites Held For Tallulah Minister Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday for Donald Ray Hale, Tallulah minister at the Tallulah Church of Christ with Bob Tholman of Greenville, Miss. officiating. Burial was in Providence Memorial Cemetery here, under direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mr. Hale, 37, was killed instantly when his car was in a collision with another vehicle driven by Claude Faulkenberry, 57, of Bastrop. Faulkenberry was taken to Mercy Hospital with injuries. This was one of a series of accidents that occurred Friday on heavily congested U.S. 80 where resurfacing work is underway. Investigating officers said several trucks had overturned in the area after striking soft shoulders on the road. The accident occurred in the S-curve between Mound and Thomastown about eight miles east of here. Mr. Hale was a native of North Little Rock. Ark. He had been in Tallulah for the past two years, coming here from Vicksburg, Miss. He was a veteran of the Korean War, and charter member and first president of the Data Processing and Managerial Association of Raton Rouge. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruth Hale; one son, Don Hale Jr.; and two daughters, Misses Debbie Hale and Dana Hale, all of Tallulah; his father John B. Hale of Batesville, Ark.; three brothers, Gerald Hale of Alameda, Calif., Billy Hale and Ronnie Hale, both of Dallas, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Geraldine Wilkins of North Little Rock, Ark. Pallbearers were Sonny Broadway, Earl Landry, Jack Thames, Maurice Grady, Bobby Grimes, Tommie Cleveland, O. N. Williamson and Joe Williamson. Honorary pallbearers were supervisors of International Paper Company at Vicksburg, Miss.
