All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Onis Woodrow Grissom, Sr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal September 11, 2003 Onis Woodrow Grissom, Sr. died Sept. 1 in Clinton, Miss. He was born April 10, 1918, in Itawamba County. He married Sara Parilee Grissom in 1936, and celebrated 63 years together before her death in January 2000. Grissom was a lifelong farmer. In 1965, he moved the family business from Hayti, Mo., to Louisiana. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. He was faithful to his church until two years ago when his health began to fail, and he moved to Clinton in July to live with his son and his family. Grissom was preceded in death by his oldest son, Onis Grissom, Jr., his wife and eight brothers and one sister. He is survived by a sister, Lola Robinson, of Waco; a daughter-in-law, Arritia Grissom of St. Joseph; eight grandchildren, Kim Hestle and husband, Jason Hestle; Ginger White and husband, Todd; Lea Panky and husband, Mark; Johnny Grissom; Jeffrey Grissom: Jerry Grissom; Bailee Grissom; and Logan Grissom; seven great-grandchildren, Danielle and Zachary Patton; Kali and Madison Panky; Maggi Lyn Hestle; and Brandon and Johnny Lynn Grissom; and several nieces and nephews.
