All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Nelson Goss - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal December 14, 1972 Nelson Goss rites held Funeral services were held at 1 p. m. Saturday for Nelson Goss, 53, of Tallulah, at Crothers Funeral Home chapel here with the Revs. Crawford Williams of the First Baptist Church of Tallulah and Perry Sanders of the First Baptist Church of Lafayette officiating. Burial followed at Providence Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Goss died Thursday at Madison Parish Hospital following a long illness. A native of Lillie, Mr. Goss was employed as deputy sheriff by the Madison Parish Sheriff's Office for the past 10 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Evelyn Goss of Tallulah; one son, William Goss of Laurel, Miss.; three daughters, Mrs. Kent Naquin, Mrs. Jimmy Sibley and Mrs. Larry Rachel, all of Baton Rouge; one brother, Dallas Goss of San Angelo, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. A. J. Szabo of Lafayette; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Goss of Lafayette; and six grandchildren. He is also survived by two stepchildren, Ronnie Deckleman and Mrs. Denice Marsh, both of Tallulah; and one step-granddaughter. Pallbearers were R. R. Mitchell, Perry Williams, Cliff Erwin, Oran Lewis, George Cummings and Stuart Moberley. Honorary pallbearers were all deputies of the Madison Parish Sheriff's Office.
