All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Grover Cleveland Goodrum - Madison Parish, LA From Tallulah Madison Journal November 12, 1954 "Goodie" Goodrum Passes Away Early Saturday Morning Grover Cleveland Goodrum, known by his friends as "Goodie," age 62 died early Saturday morning at his home here. Born in Hinds County, Miss., he had lived in Vicksburg and operated a candy business for several years. He also worked for P. P. Williams before going to Thomastown, La., where he operated a grocery store. He was a veteran of World War I. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Troy Shatoska, Natchez; two grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. C. C. Goodrum, Vicksburg; one sister, Mrs. B. H. Odom, Memphis, Tenn.; four brothers, Jimmy Goodrum, Thomastown, La. ; W. P. Goodrum, Waco, Texas; W. C. Goodrum, Memphis, and C. F. Goodrum, Utica; and several nieces and nephews and one aunt, Mrs. Fanny Sims of Vicksburg. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Fisher Funeral Chapel with the American Legion Chaplain officiating Burial was in Bethesda Cemetery in Hinds County near Utica.
