Godfrey - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal December 27, 1995 Funeral services for Mr. Joseph A. Godfrey, age 79, of Tallulah, were held Tuesday, Dec. 26, 1995, at 4 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Tallulah with Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mr. Godfrey died Sunday, Dec. 24, in the Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah after a brief illness. He was born in Jamestown, La, and had lived in Tallulah for 40 years. Mr. Godfrey was a retired custodian for the Madison Parish School system. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Tallulah. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Green Godfrey of Tallulah; one son and daughter-in-law, David Allan and Gayla Godfrey of Monroe, La.; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Regnal Wallace of Baton Rouge La.; one brother, Aaron D. Godfrey of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Bessie Lori Goldman, Audrey Alexander and Mercedese Smith, all of Shreveport.
