Reported missing from his home all night, Sheriff C. E. Hester began an investigation that led to the body. Death struck between the hour of 4 and 5 p. m., as the school janitor was last seen Monday evening around four by a fellow worker. Glascock was at work in the basement when the accident occurred. Authorities revealed that Glascock was preparing to pump water from the basement floor. He plugged in an electric extension from the pump while standing in three inches of water. The extension cord was defective. He is believed to have attempted to free himself by grabbing a nearby pipe as his arm was around it when found. Mrs. Lois Glascock called Sheriff Hester about daybreak Tuesday and reported that her husband had not been in all night. She asked the sheriff to look for him. Hester began his investigation at the school. He informed school laborers to "look around." A short time later the burned body was found sprawled on the wet floor. Glascock was a popular, well-liked janitor. He was always kind and considerate to all school students. Many young hearts were dented from the tragedy, as he had been employed at the parish school for 10 years and possessed many friends. A native of Tickfaw, La., he had been living in Tallulah for about 15 years. He leaves his wife and four children, Geraldine, Winston, Patsy and Larry of Tallulah; a brother, Robert Lee Glascock, and a sister, Mrs. Ludie Mae McAdams, both of Sondheimer. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 at the Delhi Cemetery. The Rev. J. Daniel Gilliam officiated with Crothers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Pete Seymour, Albert Fondren, Barton Sevier, Jim Williamson, G. S. Langford and H. D. Morton.
