All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Katherine Elizabeth Gilfoil - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal November 22, 1995 Services for Katherine Elizabeth Gilfoil were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov 17, 1995, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rayville with the Father Thomas Flynn officiating. Burial was in Start Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville. Mrs. Gilfoil died Wednesday, Nov 15, 1995. She was 92. She was a civilian internee in the Philippine Islands from 1942-1945. She was awarded the Pacific Theater Ribbon by Gen. Douglas McArthur in 1945. Survivors include her husband, William S. Gilfoil of Crew Lake; four daughters, Kay G. Drouant of Lafayette, Mary G. Miglio of Jeffersonville, N.Y., Patricia G. Carroll of Wilmington, Del., and Lyda G. Hernandez of Taos, N.M.; one son, Michael W. Gilfoil of Crew Lake; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
