Gilfoil died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 88. Mr. Gilfoil was born in Lake Providence and was a lifelong resident of Madison Parish. He was a 1935 graduate of Notre Dame. He was a farmer, a rancher and a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Agnes Hamley Gilfoil. He is survived by three sons, James Patrick Gilfoil, William Riley Gilfoil and John Winston Gilfoil, all of Tallulah; six daughters, Mary Agnes York of Jonesville, La., Dorothy Dyer of Tallulah, Margaret Yerger of Mound, Georgie Breard of Gulfport, Gail Snider of Shreveport and Susan Cangelosi of Covington, La.; a brother, William Scott Gilfoil of Start, La.; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Edward's Catholic Church with the Rev. Ferre D'Cruz and Monsignor Gerald Priest officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday with Rosary at 8. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, William Mitchell Gilfoil, James Marion Gilfoil II, James Gilfoil Dyer, Edward Scott Yerger, William David Yerger, John Winston Gilfoil, Jason Thomas Gilfoil, William Riley Gilfoil III and Richard Adam Snider. Honorary pallbearers will be John Terral, Pat Burns, Dr. Ed Evans, Johnny Hawarth, Jack Millikin and Jamie Howington. Memorials may be made to St. Edward's Catholic Church, P.O.
