Giglio, Jr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal August 14, 1969 Johnny Giglio Dies At 44; Rites Held The untimely death of John A. Giglio, Jr. both shocked and grieved residents of Tallulah. Mr. Giglio, age 44, died Saturday Aug. 23, 1969, at 6:00 p. m., at Madison Parish Hospital following a short illness. John A. Giglio, son of the late Clara Rhodes and John A. Giglio, was born in St. Joseph, Louisiana. He came to Tallulah in the fall of 1941 and lived in the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Crothers. He graduated from Tallulah High School in the spring of 1942. He enlisted in the Navy and served until 1945. In 1945 he married the former Miss Mary Jo McKinnie. After his tour of duty with the Navy he returned to Tallulah, later going to Houston, Texas where he attended an Embalming School. He returned to Tallulah, and has been associated with Crothers Funeral Home until his death. Mr. Giglio was a member of the Tallulah Presbyterian Church where he had worked for many years as a Sunday school teacher and with the Young People. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Jo Giglio, one daughter, Mrs. Brenda Wilson, one grandson, John D. Wilson, one sister, Mrs. Max Finkle of Cleveland, Tennessee and his aunt, Mrs. Madeline Bethea of Cleveland, Tennessee. Funeral services were held at the Tallulah Presbyterian Church, Monday, August 25, at 3:00 p. m. with The Rev. Crawford Williams of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial, under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home, was in Providence Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jim Folk, Jim Wilson, John Simpson, Dan Walker, Lineal Bradley, Creighton Laughman, Ralph Reed.
