Ghrigsby - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, July 19, 1989 Funeral services for Mr. Turner E. Ghrigsby, 71, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church with Rev. John Rushing and Rev. James Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Silver Cross Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mr. Ghrigsby died Thursday at his home after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Alabama and a resident of Tallulah for the past 35 years. He was a veteran of World War II, a retired heavy equipment operator with the Madison Parish Police Jury and a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lorine Ghrigsby of Tallulah; five sons, Thomas Edward Ghrigsby, Franklin David Ghrigsby, Larry Joseph Ghrigsby and Herman Lee Ghrigsby, all of Tallulah and James William Ghrigsby of Vicksburg; two daughters, Peggy Jobe of Tallulah and Mary Dean Johnson of Vicksburg; three sisters, Faye Springer of Green Hill, Ala., Vernice Bailey of Old Hickory, Tenn. and Ethel Smith of Lebanon, Tenn.; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Tommy Ghrigsby, Herman Ghrigsby Jr., Jamie Ghrigsby Jr., Franklin David Ghrigsby Jr., Larry Joseph Ghrigsby Jr., James William Ghrigsby Jr., Clinton Jobe, Joe Jobe, Jimmy Jobe and Tim Jobe. Honorary pallbearers were nephews.
