Gentry - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal December 19, 1947 Services Held For Mrs. L. W. Gentry Dec. 17 Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. L. W. Gentry, aged 57, who died at 3:15 Monday afternoon at the local clinic, where she had been a patient for the past four months. Mrs. Gentry was a school teacher in Madison Parish, and had made her home here for the past twenty-five years. Services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Baptist church with Rev. Clarence Crow and Rev. John F. Kilpatrick, officiating. Pallbearers were: Gaines Byram, Ernest Stewart, Bob Brown, Jim D. Sevier, C. E. Goss, R. F. Farr, Dick Almond, and Roy Dale. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Alice Jean Williams of Royce City, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Stuckey of Tallulah; Miss Jean Stringer of Tallulah; and Mrs. Clemmy Scarbrough of Natchitoches, La.; two brothers, Myers Stringer of Sillsbee, Texas, and Jason Stringer of Bunn, Texas.
