Garner - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Monroe News-Star September 16, 1960 TRANSYLVANIA (Special) - Funeral services for John A. Garner, 64, were set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Melborne Baptist Church at Alsatia. Mr. Garner died unexpectedly here Thursday at the home of a daughter. He had lived here for the past 24 years. The Rev. Billy Moore will officiate at the services and interment under the direction of Young's Funeral Home will follow in the New Silver Cross Garden of Memories Cemetery in Tallulah. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Emmie Garner; three daughters, Mrs. Sue Moberley and Mrs. Annie Lou Horath, both of Transylvania; Mrs. L. P. Ferguson, Atlanta; seven sons, B. J. Garner, Lake Charles, Nat Garner, Joe Garner, Charles Garner and Ebin Garner, all of Shreveport, John P. Garner and Willie Garner, both of Transylvania.
