Galloway, Madison Parish Pioneer, 96, Dies Funeral services for a former superintendent of education in Madison Parish, was held Tuesday. J. B. Galloway, Sr., 96, died in New Orleans Sunday after a long illness. He was born in Macon, Ga., and at the age of 19 came to Omega, La, in Madison Parish where he was employed by the J. H. Gilfoil Mercantile Company, and in which post he remained for 40 years. During his time in Madison Parish he served for 17 years as superintendent of education. He moved to Vicksburg in 1934 and made his home with his son, J. B. Galloway, Jr., until he went to New Orleans 10 years ago. Funeral services were held at 10 a. in. Tuesday at the St. Edwards Catholic Church with Father Winfred Struble officiating. Burial was in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home of Vicksburg, Miss.
