All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Robert Gaines - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, March 27, 1980 Funeral services for Robert Gaines, 81, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Trinity Episcopal Church with Father Joel Treadwell officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mr. Gaines died Sunday in Mercy Regional Medical Center in Vicksburg, Miss. after a long illness. He was an Alabama native and an entomologist for the United States Department of Agriculture. He was a former manager of the Episcopal Church Camp in Xxxxx, former treasurer of Episcopal Church, a former officer of the Louisiana Episcopal Laymen and a former Rotary Club member. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Helen Gaines of Tallulah; a brother, J. C. Gaines of College Station, Texas; and a niece, Mrs. Madlyn Jones of Waco, Texas. Pallbearers were Warren Patrick, Harvey Mounger, R. C. Todd, Jack Milliken, Walter Scott III, Carneal Woodyear, M. A. Phillips and Louis Buckner. Honorary pallbearers were members of Trinity Church Vestry. The family requests memorials be made to Trinity Episcopal Church or a favorite charity.
