Graveside services for Mrs. LaVonne Doden Furr, age 87, of Monroe, La., will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 12:00 noon in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah, under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah, with Rev. Dawnell Stodghill officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 A.M., until the graveside at 12:00 noon.

Mrs. Furr died Sunday, April 19, 2015 in Bastrop, La., after a brief illness. She was born in Sheffield, Iowa on March 9, 1928 and had lived in Tallulah from 1940 until 1966. She was a businesswoman and a giver of care. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Lewis B. Furr, 2 daughters, Shari F. Moreau (Robert) of Monroe, La., and Susan Alexander (William) of Slidell, La., 1 son, David L. Furr of DeBeque, Colorado, grandchildren, Patricia Smith (Scott), Ashley Allen (Matt), David Moreau, Jep Alexander, Sara Moreau, and Emma Furr, great-grandchildren, Tyler, Callie, Thomas, and Grace, 1 brother, John Doden of DeBeque, Colorado, 1 sister, Dorothy Faucheaux of Metairie, La., and several loving nieces.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North East Louisiana Food Bank, The Kitty De Gree School of Nursing, or a charity of your choice.
