Reid Thomas Foster - Madison Parish, Louisiana

Services for Reid Thomas Foster will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with Rev. Nathan Martin officiating. Interment will be at Alexandria Memorial Gardens under the direction of John Kramer & Son. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the funeral home.

 

Reid Thomas Foster, 78, of Woodworth passed away on September 10, 2014 at Rapides Regional Medical Center. Reid is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Bryan and Sally Land Leggett Foster and step-father, T.M. Watts.

 

Reid was the Past Master of Masonic Lodge #398 in Alexandria, La, as well as, the Past Patron of J.T. Charnley Chapter #197 Eastern Star, member of the Fisher Masonic Lodge in Deville and member of the Cenla Shrine Club. Reid served proudly in the US. Army as a courier for the Army Security Agency during the cold war and was a retired farmer. Reid was the owner and operator of Arrowhead Lapidary and Leather Craft Shop. Reid was also an avid hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors.

 

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Diane Jarvis Foster of Woodworth, LA; 2 children, Steven Jarvis Foster and his wife, Sherri, of Chapin, SC and Robin Buckhalter and her husband, Chuck, of Pineville, LA; 2 sisters, Sallie Jo Gibson of Harrison, AR and Eloise Latoof and her husband, Raymond, of Marrero, LA; 1 brother, Tilford Watts and his wife, Patty, of Tallulah, LA; 4 grandchildren, Amber Courtney and her husband, Mason, of Alexandria, LA, Sarah Dantin of Monroe, LA, Brad Buckhalter and his wife, Brittany, of Pineville, LA, and Braelyn Buckhalter of Pineville, LA; 2 great-grandchildren, Justin Cryer and Kaydence Buckhalter; numerous nieces and nephews, and his loving dog, Babe.

 

In lieu of flowers, the Foster Family asks donations be sent to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3100 Samford Ave, Shreveport, LA 71103.The family would like to give a special thanks to Rapides Regional Medical Center Surgical ICU, South Tower ICU, Third floor telemetry, and surgical staff for their compassionate care and hard work. Also a huge thank you to Dr. Chance DeWitt and Dr. Greg Ardoin for their wonderful care and support of Reid and his family.
