All rights reserved. ************************************************ James Albert Fondren - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post May 31, 2001 TALLULAH - James Albert Fondren died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at Madison Parish Hospital. He was 80. Born in Ruleville, Mr. Fondren had lived in Tallulah for 73 years. He was a retired plumbing contractor and an Army veteran of World War II. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include his wife, Edna Whitaker Fondren of Tallulah; four sons, James Albert "Jim" Fondren Jr., William E. Fondren and Lloyd R. Fondren, all of Tallulah, and Robert Dewey Fondren of West Monroe; two daughters, Eva Marie Taylor of Tallulah and Doris Stevens of Natchez; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Dewayne Whittington and Greg Nichols officiating. Burial followed at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Pallbearers were Charles Fondren, Gary Strobel, Jon Harris, Eugene Herron, Wayne Williams and Bernie Jobe. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Jobe, Tommy Jobe, Charlie Jobe, Dannie Powers and Booby Powers.
