All rights reserved. **************************************************************************************************** Lucy Sevier Folk - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, January 23, 1969 Funeral Rights Held Here for Mrs. Lucy Sevier Folk Mrs. Lucy Sevier Folk died Saturday Jan. 18 arriving to the hospital in Jackson, Miss, following an illness of about a week. Mrs. Folk, a native of Madison Parish, was born Jan. 21, 1893. She was the daughter of the late Roxie Allen Sevier and the late James Douglas Sevier. She was married to Benjamin Perry Folk and for many years owned and operated a plantation six miles south of Tallulah. For the past few months Mr. and Mrs. Folk have been residents of Heritage Manor in Newellton, La. Mrs. Folk was a charter member of the Tallulah Presbyterian Church and for many years was active in both church and club work. She is survived by her husband Benjamin Perry Folk; three sons Dr. Benjamin Perry Folk, Jr. of Jackson, Miss., Jim Sevier Folk and Jack Haynes Folk, both of Tallulah; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Folk Booth of Nashville, Tenn.; one brother, Henry C. Sevier of Tallulah and fourteen grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Tallulah Presbyterian Church Sunday, Jan. 19 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. William Mansell of Vicksburg officiating. Burial followed at Silver Cross Cemetery with Crothers Funeral Home officiating. Pallbearers were Jim Sevier, Barton Sevier, Henry C. Sevier, Jr., Malcolm Sevier, Howard Sevier and George Spencer.
