All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Gaines Florence - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal June 30, 1999 Funeral services for Mr. Gaines Florence, 72, of Tallulah, were held Sunday, June 27, 1999 in the chapel of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Mr. Florence died Saturday, June 26, in the Glenwood Hospital in West Monroe, La., after a lengthy illness. He was a lifelong resident of Tallulah and was retired. He was a member of the former Montrose Baptist Church. Mr. Florence was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy in the Asiatic Pacific Ocean. He was a member of American Legion Post 100 in Tallulah. Mr. Florence is survived by his wife: Grace Dahlhauser Florence, Tallulah; one son: Gaines D. "Wayne" Florence, Tallulah; one stepson: Vaughn Antley, West Monroe, La.: one daughter: Gloria Dahlhauser, Tallulah; and three grandsons: four sisters: Bessie Lee Collins and Odie Mae Reynolds, Tallulah, Betty Sue Whitley, Hope, Ark., and Grace Riley, Deer Park, Texas; one brother: Edwin Florence, Tallulah, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Gerald Collins, Truman Collins, Donald Collins, Stephen Collins, Billy Ray Arender and Donald Wayne Arender. Honorary pallbearers were members of American Legion Post #100.
