All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Harold Benjamin "Billy" Finlayson - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal July 13, 1994 Harold Benjamin "Billy" Finlayson, 64, died Saturday, July 9, 1994, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after an extended illness. A native of Monticello, Ark., he had lived much of his adult life in Tallulah, La., before moving to Verona, Miss., 17 years ago. He was retired after 25 years of service with the Tallulah Fire Department. He owned and operated B and L Grocery in Verona. He was a graduate of Tallulah High School and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion and a member of the Verona Church of Christ. Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Chapel of Lee Memorial Funeral Home in Verona with Minister Wayne Cox officiating. Graveside services followed in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Tallulah. Survivors include his wife, Lois Finlayson of Verona; three daughters, Billye Jo Finlayson and Sara Ann Finlayson, both of Tallulah, and Sylvia Rugg and her husband John, of Monroe; two sons, Charles Finlayson of Tallulah and David Parker and his wife Charlotte, of Verona; his parents Bill and Bertha Finlayson of Monticello, Ark.; one brother, Bob Finlayson and his wife Gloria, of Wood Bridge, Va.; one grandson, Corey Parker of Verona. Pallbearers were Don Butler, Gene Cox, Jack Head, Cecil Wells, Sam Scurria, Earl Pinkney, Fred Washington, Harold Ogden, Clyne Elledge and B. B. Harmon. Honorary pallbearers were Ebb Ferguson and Clayton Cox. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, 990 Madison Street, Tupelo, Miss., 38801.
