All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Rowena McMurry Farr - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, July 31, 1980 Services for Mrs. Rowena McMurry Farr, 80, were Friday in the Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mark Diehl officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Farr died Wednesday in Madison Parish Hospital after an illness. A native of Robertson County, Tenn., Mrs. Farr had lived in Madison Parish for 56 years. She was a retired school teacher and taught in the Madison Parish system for 38 years. She received her B.A. from George Peabody college in Nashville, Tenn., and did work at the same college. She taught in Alexandria for five years before coming to Madison Parish. Her work was in the primary grades. She was a member of the Tallulah Presbyterian Church. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. McJay Smith of Guthrie, Ky., Mrs. L. W. Hardy of Atlanta and Mrs. G. H. Bradley of Rome, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were John B. Bradley, William E. Clark Jr., Richard Craig Clark, Steve Tonore, Andrew Y. Federick, Bobby Tonore and Robert Farr. The family requests memorials be made to Tallulah Presbyterian Church, the Silver Cross Cemetery Association or Madison Parish Hospital.
