Evans - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, March 28, 1966 Tallulah Man Killed In Wreck; Services Held Robert E. Evans, 54, of Tallulah, was killed in a one-car accident south of Lake Providence about 3 a. m. last Saturday according to reports. He was a disabled World War II veteran, ran off Highway 65, one mile south of Lake Providence and hit an embankment, according to reports. Funeral services were held at 3 p. m. last Sunday at the Church of Christ with Rev. Grover Martin officiating. Burial followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Evans was one time in the insurance business in Tallulah. He was a member of the Church of Christ, American Legion and Masonic Lodge. A native of Newton County, Mississippi, he was a resident of Madison Parish for the past seven years. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Billie D. Evans. Tallulah; his mother, Mrs. Elvie Evans, Vicksburg, Miss.; two daughters, Marie and Bobbie Evans, both of Tallulah; and one step daughter, Nora Williams, Tallulah. Pallbearers were R. E. Fowler, W. M. Malone, A. O. Maxwell, Chester Deggans, Manfred Gustafson and Everett Edwards.
