All rights reserved. ************************************************ Queenie Erwin - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post, August 2, 1935 TALLULAH RESIDENT PASSES AWAY HERE Miss Queenie Erwin aged 45, for many years a resident of Tallulah, died In Vicksburg last night after an illness of several months. She was a member of the Tallulah Methodist Church, and active in the Woman's Missionary Society. Funeral services will take place in Tallulah this afternoon at the Methodist Church with Rev. C. K Smith officiating. Interment will be in Silver Cross Cemetery. Miss Erwin is survived by two brothers, M. P. Erwin of Lake Providence and Ernest Erwin, chief engineer on a merchant-marine vessel in Baltimore; and a sister Mrs. Susan Hart of Lake Providence. From Madison Journal August 9, 1935 FUNERAL SERVICE IS HELD FOR MISS ERWIN Miss Queenie Erwin, 47 years old, a native of this parish, having been born on Omega Plantation and making her home here during all of her life, died last Thursday night at the Vicksburg Sanitarium after an illness of many months. She was the daughter of the late M. P. Erwin and Mrs. Matilda Erwin and is survived by a sister, Mrs. Susan Hart of Lake Providence and two brothers, M. P. Erwin of Lake Providence and Ernest Erwin of the U. S. Marines. A member of the Methodist Church of Tallulah, Miss Erwin was active in the missionary society. Funeral services were held Friday from the Methodist Church with interment in Silver Cross cemetery. Her pastor, Rev. C. K. Smith officiating. Active pallbearers were Steve Pierce, J. N. Harvey, W. A. Gilpin, Mertie M. Bloom, William Powell and William Wallace Ziegler. Honorary pallbearers were A. J. Sevier, Dr. G. W. Gaines, W. D. Ziegler, Jas. A. Moberley, E. T. Purnell, James Gilfoil, R. K. Boney and Jas. R. Linton.
