All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ James Madison Ellis - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post February 19, 1949 ELLIS FUNERAL IS HELD AT TALLULAH TALLULAH, La., Feb.19 -- Funeral services were held this morning for James Madison Ellis, 54, who died Thursday afternoon at a Ruston clinic,. The services were held at the St. Edward's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father R. M. Maure as celebrant of the mass. Burial was in the Silver Cross Cemetery with Crothers Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were J. K. Post, A. V. Sevier, Jim Sevier, B. P. Folk, Richard Almond, J. R. Wallace, L. Z. Naylor and William Powell. Mr. Ellis had been manager of a Tallulah slaughtering house f or years, and he was meat inspector for the city. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Ellis; a son, J. M. Ellis, Jr., three sisters, Mrs. T. L. Creed, Mrs. Tom Holder and Mrs. Gilma Etlis, all of Port Arthur, Tex.
