All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Emmett Gerald “Jake” Ellis - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post June 25, 2009 RICHMOND, La. — Memorial services for Mr. Emmett Gerald “Jake” Ellis, age 69, of Richmond, La., will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Tallulah with the Rev. John W. Rushing officiating. Mr. Ellis died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Promise Specialty Hospital in Vicksburg after a lengthy illness. He was born in Okolona, Miss., and had lived in Richmond for 20 years. He was manager of several apparel manufacturing companies here in America and abroad. He attended Mississippi State College and East Texas State College. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Tallulah. Mr. Ellis was a member of Scott-Nichols-Volk Post American Legion No. 100 of Tallulah and was a member of Louisiana Rural Water Association. Survivors include his wife, Genevieve M. Ellis of Richmond; one son, Christian Wade Ellis of Monroe; one daughter, Tori Ellis Wise of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Tambi Sault of Jefferson, Wis., and Traci Ohlberg of Mukwonago, Wis.; three brothers, Joe Wade Ellis of Decatur, Ala., and James “Skeet” Ellis and Robbie Ellis, both of Okolona; one sister, Betty Vinson of Jackson; and five grandchildren, Jonathan, Brandon, Tyler, Garrett and Ethan.
