All rights reserved. ************************************************ Frances Clarke Bettis Eiland - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post, April 4, 2006 TALLULAH - Services for Frances Clarke Bettis Eiland were today at Trinity Episcopal Church of Tallulah under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah. The Rev. William J. Echols officiated. Mrs. Eiland died Monday, April 3, 2006, at Madison Parish Hospital. She was 88. A lifelong resident of Tallulah, Mrs. Eiland was a homemaker and housewife. She was a member of Madison Parish Historical Society, Town and Country Club, Daughters of the American Revolution and Trinity Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Herbert Eiland Sr.; her parents, Fannie Amis Peterkin Bettis and Stanton Buckner Bettis; and a sister, Elizabeth Bettis Kincaid Parkerson; Survivors include two sons, Dr. Edward Herbert Eiland Jr. and Stanton Bettis Eiland; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were C. Calvin Adams, Charles R. Brown, Robert Charles Brown, Robert W. Calvert, Kirk S. Morley, William T. Paxton and James C. Wilkerson. Honorary pallbearers were George S. Weaver. Memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church of Tallulah.
