Eakes - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal August 8, 1990 Funeral services for Mr. John D. Eakes, 49, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Crothers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lynn Townsend officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Crothers. Mr. Eakes died Monday at his home in Tallulah after a short illness. He was a native of Mississippi and a resident of Tallulah for the past 37 years. He was a Vietnam War veteran, a building contractor and a member of the Baptist faith. Survivors include one brother Jeff Eakes of Tallulah; three nephews and three nieces. Pallbearers were James Rash, Charlie Jester, Jim Tamburo, Neal Horath, David Lowrey and Billy Rash. Honorary pallbearers were Brett Raley, Lloyd Moore and Clem Tullos.
