Eaker Jr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, April 5, 1989 Funeral services for Mr. Gus B. Eaker Jr., 76, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ramon Warren officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mr. Eaker died Saturday at the Vicksburg Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was a native of Arkansas and had lived in Madison Parish for 62 years. He was a mechanic, a veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion Post No. 100 and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gwen K. Eaker of Tallulah; two sons, Don Eaker of Tallulah and Gus B. (Sonny) Eaker III of LaPlace; one daughter, Mrs. Martha Mitchell of Bolivar, Tenn.; one brother, Bill Eaker of Tallulah; three sisters, Mrs. Mamie Holt of Tallulah, Mrs. Joy Hargett of Gulf Shores, Ala. and Mrs. Ruth Painter of Harahan; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Claude Grimes, Harris Wise, Bobby Joe Lee, Thomas Russell, Tommy Byrd and Doug Curtis.
