Duncan - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal June 24, 1998 Funeral services for Mr. James H. Duncan, age 58, of Tallulah, were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 20, in the chapel of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Revs. John Rushing and Dewayne Whittington officiating. Burial followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah. Mr. Duncan died early Friday, June 19, in the Vicksburg Medical Center. He was born in Sondheimer, La., and had lived most of his life in the Tallulah area. He was a farmer and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Brister, D.E.R. 327. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tallulah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and O. DeWitt Duncan Sr.; a son, Patrick Dodd Duncan; two brothers, Richard D. Duncan and O. DeWitt Duncan Jr.; and a sister, Betty Jean Duncan Wood. He is survived by one son, Daniel DeWitt Duncan of Tallulah; two sisters, Joann Duncan Warner and Patsy Duncan Bosso, both of Baton Rouge; three grandsons, James Patrick Duncan and David Stuart Duncan, both of Tallulah, and Devin Lee DeWitt of Sondheimer; and one granddaughter, Carrie Jean Morrow of Sondheimer. Active pallbearers were Bobby Arneson, Gary Arneson, Gene Cox, Ken Mason, Richard Thames and Robert Thames. Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Arneson, John Christian, Tommy Leoty, Jim McDaniel, John Ulmer and D. D. Wood. Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah was in charge of arrangements.
