Deckard - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal September 18, 1996 Belva H. Deckard died Monday, Sept. 16, 1996 at Columbia Vicksburg Medical Center. Mrs. Deckard was born in Winn Parish, and had lived in Tallulah since 1940. For a number of years, she was a caregiver for the elderly in the Tallulah area. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Clinton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Muriel F. Deckard, in 1962. She is survived by two daughters, Lorene Arnold of Vicksburg and Earnestine Newell of Flora; two sons, Wayne Deckard and Muriel Deckard, both of Tallulah; one sister Irene Marshall of Shreveport; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah with the Rev. David Newell of Clinton officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Charles Newell, Jay Bennett, Gerald Arnold, Dewayne Arnold, Tommy Dunning, Jackie Maddox and John Moss Christian.
