From Dignity Memorial Longview, Texas September 19, 2018

June 21, 1941 – September 17, 2018

Memorial Services for Edwin Howard Dean, 77, of Longview, Texas will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Church of the Living Waters in Tatum, Texas. Bro. Elbert Jones and Pastor Gary Chambers officiating.

Howard passed away peacefully at his home on September 17, 2018. He was born June 21, 1941 in Tallulah, Louisiana to Edwin and Mildred Dean.

Howard worked as Boiler Maker out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Howard worked in construction most of his career. He was a leader not a follower. He worked as superintendent, foreman, inspector, safety consultant and was well respected by his colleagues and employers. To say he was a hard worker would be an understatement. He began working at a very young age and dedicated his life to providing for his family. This could be where he gained his passion for beekeeping and enjoyed watching them work. He spent countless hours talking about his bees to anyone interested in hearing his thoughts on them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Mildred Dean, brother, Anthony Dean, sister, Faye Alsobrook, daughter, Angela Caston, and grandson, Jeffery Splawn.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Dean of Longview, children Dwayne and Tammy Dean of Mansfield, Texas, Steven and Rachael Dean of Red Oak, Texas, Tosha and Ross Rucker of Boerne, Texas, Candice Dean of Frankford, Kentucky, Cherilyn Caraway of Longbranch, Texas, Sherri and Billy Pack of Kilgore, Texas, Laquitta and Brian Franklin of Livingston, Texas and James and Melissa Hawthorne of Kilgore, Texas. As well as, 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; brother, Homer and Betty Dean of Bossier City, Louisiana, sisters, Jeanette and Santo Sansone of Atlanta, Georgia, Marolyn Lord of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Beverly and Joe Sims of St. Francisville, Louisiana, Sylvia Dean of Stanton, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
